LeasePace

A practical iOS app that helps drivers track lease mileage, understand their daily pace, and estimate potential overage costs before the end of a lease.

Project purpose: Help drivers understand their lease mileage pace early enough to avoid surprise overage fees.
My role: Independent iOS designer and developer, shaping the product, calculations, architecture, and SwiftUI experience.
Technology: Swift, SwiftUI, MVVM, SwiftData, Observation, and Xcode.
Key decisions: Keep persistence and app workflows separate from deterministic mileage analysis so projections stay testable and the interface stays focused.
The challenge: Turn dates, mileage allowances, odometer updates, and per-mile fees into guidance that remains accurate and easy to understand.
What I learned: How clear MVVM boundaries, input validation, calendar-day logic, safe previews, and focused tests make a practical app easier to evolve.

Current status

In testing. LeasePace is being refined and prepared for its first public release. Final screenshots and release details will be added as testing progresses.

Survive became the flagship story.

The original standalone SwiftUI story taught me navigation and state management. Step By Step expands that foundation with HealthKit-powered energy, checkpoints, achievements, and replayable story paths.

Current technical topic: MVVM boundaries for presentation state, SwiftData persistence, and deterministic lease analysis using calendar-day calculations.
Most recent milestone: Refactored features into focused view models, added safe in-memory previews across key states, and verified Debug and Release builds with 10 focused unit tests.

About Gustavo

Great-Visions is my independent software studio and the home for the software and digital experiences I design and build. I run it as a solo developer, creating original products and taking on select commissioned projects where the work is a good fit.

My software development work is shaped by marketing education and extensive customer-facing sales experience. I care about whether something works technically, but also whether it communicates clearly and solves a meaningful problem for the person using it.

I continue to develop original Great-Visions products, including LeasePace, while growing through commissioned work and technical writing. I’m also open to the right iOS development role, where I can contribute to a product, learn from an experienced team, and keep strengthening my engineering skills.
